Tomorrow We Will See offers a window into how ten artists in Lebanon are using art as a tool to question sectarian divisions while encouraging freedom of thought. Against the backdrop of Lebanon’s scars from wars, and socio-political scars created from sectarian divisions, Lebanese artists continue to contribute to the creative community despite the uncertainties of what tomorrow may bring. A rock band's thought-provoking lyrics, a poet's description of time shrinking, an architect's experimental manipulation of space, a novelist's language of the female body, and a painter's reflections on his choice of colors, reveal the process by which the featured artists transform ideas, sketches, spaces into vibrant and dynamic works of art while describing what the expression ‘Bukra Minshouf’ (‘...

Hundreds of film buffs came together at the Beirut International Film Festival in the Lebanese capital on Wednesday. The festival, which is in its 11th year, opened with the screening of 'The Tree of Life', by U.S. director Terrence Malick. The film won the Palme D'Or at this year's Cannes Film Festival in May. The festival's director, Collette Naufal, said this year the event was monumental. "This year's festival is the biggest since 1997," Naufal said on the sidelines of the opening night. "What distinguishes it is the number of good quality and important films we are screening and the large number of renowned directors we have brought," Naufal said. The festival also boasts 24 films from the Arab world including countries like Jordan, Tunisia, Morocco, and host nation Le...

I am in Beirut, Lebanon! I am currently interning with an amazing Christian nonprofit to help provide aid and relief for the Syrian Refugee crisis for the summer and am a little over a week in. I primarily work Mon-Thurs and Sunday so the clips are collection from some of the work and my time off. We have been doing a lot of work in churches and refugees camps. The refugee camps I have been to so far have asked us not to take pictures. But I am going to Bekaa Valley tomorrow, the largest Syrian refugee camp in all of Lebanon, for several days to film an organization that will be putting up tents and handing out supplies and hope to post about that soon! with love, elena @elenataber Come say hi: http://bit.ly/elenataber Business Inquiries: firstname.lastname@example.org

Located on a peninsula at the midpoint of Lebanon's Mediterranean coast, Beirut is the country's largest and main seaport. It is one of the oldest cities in the world, inhabited more than 5,000 years ago. The first historical mention of Beirut is found in the ancient Egyptian Tell el Amarna letters dating from the 15th century BC. The Beirut River runs south to north on the eastern edge of the city. Since the end of the war in 1990, the people of Lebanon have been rebuilding Beirut, and by the start of the 2006 Israel-Lebanon conflict the city had somewhat regained its status as a tourist, cultural and intellectual center in the Middle East and as a centre for commerce, f...
